Obama, in a statement, said, ''As I have traveled this country, I've been impressed not by what divides us, but by all that unites us. That is why I am deeply disappointed in Father Pfleger's divisive, backward-looking rhetoric, which doesn't reflect the country I see or the desire of people across America to come together in common cause.''
Anyone who's anyone in Chicago politics can tell you this is par for the course for Pfleger, and there's absolutely nothing that should surprise Obama. This is man who vociferously defended both Rev. Wright and Louis Farrakhan even AFTER Obama finally disowned Wright.
You might also remember Pfleger as the one who a year ago called for a suburban gun shop owner to be "snuffed out", then later confessed that despite captaining a church that ministers to gang-bangers, he didn't know what the phrase meant. Filed Under: Race for President
