Jason has devoted his professional career to serving the citizens of Illinois.

Jason grew up in Jasper County and graduated from Newton Community High School. Following high school, he attended Olney Central College and graduated with an Associates' Degree in Art and Science. Throughout high school and community college, Jason worked for Kuhl's Trailer Sales, the family business his grandparents founded in 1973. During this time, Jason was also active in his church, Holy Cross Church in Wendelin, serving as both a 3rd Grade and High School Parish School Religion Teacher.

Jason transferred to the University of Illinois at Springfield, where he received a Bachelors' of Arts Degree in Political Studies, graduating at the top of the Political Studies program.

While attending school in Springfield, Jason served as a Park Ranger for the United States Park Service at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site. For two years he was fortunate enough to educate thousands of visitors from around the world about the life of Abraham Lincoln and his undying belief in the "American Dream." The dream that anyone no matter where they come from can, with hard work and dedication, become anything they wish. A dream that Jason still carries with him to this day.

Jason had the great pleasure of serving as an intern in the Office of United States Senator Richard J. Durbin. While serving in Senator Durbin's office, he assisted in constituent services on several issues. On a daily basis, Jason was able to assist Illinois citizens with various problems they faced.

Out of hundreds of applicants from around the country, Jason was awarded one of the prestigious Dunn Fellowships with the State of Illinois. During his time as a Dunn Fellow, Jason served in the State's Washington D.C. office as a federal legislative liaison working with the Illinois Congressional Delegation, to promote and protect the interest of the citizens of Illinois. During his time in Washington D.C., Jason, along with his colleagues in the office, oversaw the early stages of Illinois' bid for the Future Gen Project.

Jason returned to Springfield to accept a position with the Illinois House of Representatives on the Appropriation and Research Staff. During his time working for the House, Jason assisted legislators in drafting and passing legislation, running committees, assisting in the appropriations process, and was responsible for drafting bill analysis which explains to representatives what a bill actually does.

Following the sudden passing of his step-father, Jason chose to return home to help out the family business, a business his mother now owns.

Currently, Jason serves as Vice-President of Kuhl's Trailer Sales, Inc. Along with his Mother, Phyllis Prosser, and Brother, Chris Warfel, they continue to serve the community as a family owned and family focused business.

Since returning home, Jason has once again started teaching 3rd Grade Parish School Religion with his mother Phyllis, at Holy Cross Church.

Jason is an active member of Holy Cross Parish in Wendelin, the Knights of Columbus, Illinois Federation for Right to Life, Jasper County Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Effingham Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Olney and Greater Richland County Chamber of Commerce, Wabash County Chamber of Commerce, Albion Chamber of Commerce, National Trail Ag Coalition, Jasper County Farm Bureau, National Rifle Association, and the Illinois State Rifle Association.

Following the 2006 election, Jason expressed his desire to run for the Illinois State House as State Representative from the 108th District.
