Howland has dedicated over 20 years to working with families in our community. She is a former Special Education teacher, working with emotionally disturbed and behavior-disordered students. She was an Assistant Principal and a Principal in elementary education and then went to Chicago-Kent College of Law. Howland works for the firm of Bruzgul & Associates. She works in Chicago as a lawyer helping Illinois families. She is also passionate about competitive gymnastics and is a certified judge. Howland has either lived or worked in District 51 for more than 20 years, and has watched the growth and changes to the communities in Lake County. She and her family live in Lake Zurich.
